Emergency Medical Alert ? A Testimonial to the Importance of this ...

Emergency Medical Alert

Emergency Medical Alert

As a child, I looked up to my vivacious, career-driven and successful Aunt Fiona, and never expected her to grow weak and frail, and need an emergency medical alert service. She had worked hard her entire life, developing three separate and successful businesses, and just never had a desire for her own children. My cousins and I adored her though, as she treated us like adults, and always said we were just as wonderful as if she had her own children. So when she started to age, and there was no one else, we obviously stepped in.

?

Aunt Fiona resisted our help for quite a while, but then had a heart attack one day when she was out. Fortunately, she was at a friend?s who managed to get her help right away. While she was still fine (and insistent) to live alone, her health was now more a little more precarious, and we grew fearful ? what if she was alone? What if it wasn?t a day anyone was visiting her or she wasn?t going out? The thought of her suffering through hours of agony alone without anyone to help her was dreadful, but we all had jobs that required us to be in the office.

?

We really didn?t want to leave her in a nursing home either, so we consulted our doctor, who suggested we look into the alerts for medical emergency system. After some research, we realized how cost-effective and useful it was. And it wouldn?t take away for her fiercely independent nature. All she had to do was wear a medical emergency alarm on her wrist or neck, and press the button in case there was ever another emergency. They even came in very stylish lightweight designs, so no one would even notice that she was ?in need? of any extra help, as Aunt Fiona was adamant that she wasn?t, and was getting the emergency medical alert only to please us.

?

Once we spoke with a friendly, professional staff member, we were actually very pleased. Getting Aunt Fiona a medical emergency alarm was not only affordable and functional, but the services were available 24/7 ? which meant during the day when we were at work, and at night when she was alone sleeping in the house. The staff helped us test the base unit that the center would use to communicate with her in the event the medical emergency alert had to be used, and we all breathed a little easier that day.

?

Since that day, Aunt Fiona has gladly not had any medical emergencies. We still check on her in the evenings, and find that she is still the same hard-working vivacious aunt we have always had. Having the emergency medical alert has provided us all with a comforting peace of mind ? for her, in terms of her independence and freedom, and for us, in terms of knowing that our beloved aunt can always get the help she needs, right away, if something unexpected like the heart attack ever happens again.
