Pepsi Bottling Ventures plans to invest $82 million in a building in the Union Cross Business Park.
Pepsi Bottling Ventures?
is planning to invest nearly $82 million to upfit a 526,000-square-foot building it has leased in the Union Cross Business Park in a move the company says will allow it to expand and modernize its local bottling operations. The facility at 390 Business Park Drive will eventually house 500 workers ? 300 to be moved from Pepsi?s current bottling plant on Myer Lee Drive in Winston-Salem and another 200 that will be relocated from other Pepsi facilities outside Forsyth County, including 50 from Greensboro.
Pepsi?s decision to relocate comes after the city of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County agreed to provide the company with about $1.7 million in incentives. Pepsi has had operations in Winston-Salem since 1910; its Myer Lee Drive plant fronts Business 40 just east of downtown.
