Pets of the Week - Woof! - Connecticut News

Here are a few dogs and cats from two shelters in Greenwich who need a home. The first shelter is Adopt-A-Dog, 2 Cox Ave., Armonk, N.Y. The phone number is 914-273-1674 and the website is http://www.adopt-a-dog.org/

Duchess is an 8-month-old female pit bull mix, who has been spayed. Surrendered by her owner, Duchess is very sweet and loves to play, walk and particularly enjoys toys that squeak. She is good with most of other dogs, can possibly live with cats, and is good with children.

Edie is an 8-year-old spayed female domestic long-haired mix. She is a friendly cat who could do well in a home with another cat.

Gigi, a pit bull mix, is an 11-month-old spayed female, weighing 45 pounds. She was transferred from a local shelter. She is good with most dogs and children. Gigi, a sweet and loving girl, has had a difficult time, but has had an eye operation and is fine.

Winnie is a 10-month-old female pit bull mix, weighing about 45 pounds. She has been spayed, and was transferred from a local shelter. Winnie is good with older children and some other dogs, but is unknown with cats.

Phoebe is an 8-month-old domestic short-haired cat, weighing 6 pounds. She is a spayed female who was surrendered by her owner. She is unknown with dogs and OK with most other cats and older children.

Comet is a 2 1/2-month-old male hound, who will grow to 35-50 pounds. He will be neutered by Adopt-A-Dog, as all dogs will be spayed or neutered by the organization. Comet was transferred from a North Carolina shelter. He is good with most other dogs, unknown with cats and is good with older children.

Emerson, a chocolate cocker spaniel, is a 5-6-year-old male. He is happy, active, full of love and longs for companionship. Emerson is new to the shelter, and it is unknown if he was lost by his owner.

Mojo is a domestic short-haired black kitten. He has beautiful yellow eyes and doesn?t seem frightened by anything.

Mojo, along with other cats and dogs, is available for adoption at Greenwich Animal Control, 393 North St. Facility hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The phone number is 203-622-8299. Call ahead first.
