Part two ? What it Means For You. Barack Obama's Economic ...

Barack Obama?s 787 dollars billion stimulus package was passed late in the night Friday 13th, 2009. (Hopefully the date is not a foreshadowing of how well the stimulus will do.) Many people are wondering ?what exactly do the payouts in the stimulus include and what do I get out of the package?. Well, here is a quick overview of some of the stimulus package and who gets what out of it. In part one we went over how it affected taxes and health care. In this part we?ll go over how the nations infrastructure will benefit along with what to expect for schools and national energy projects.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The nations physical structure has been stressed and failing in many areas for decades. Many highways have not been repaved for decades and bridges have been under excess strain from our oversized SUV?s. The economic stimulus package will repave many highways, reinforce crumbling bridges with new concrete and steel and replace waterlines that have not been dug up in nearly a century. Ninety dollars billion in revamping, even though not nearly enough to repair everything needed, will help create jobs for the declining employment rate in the country.

ENERGY

This could very well be a very important part of this particular topic. As mentioned in part one of this article, homeowners will be able to receive a thirty percent tax credit up to 1500 dollars towards purchases of energy efficient furnaces and air conditioners, windows and also insulation. Along with benefits for homeowners the fourty-two dollars billion energy investment included in the economic stimulus package includes twenty dollars billion portioned for ?green? jobs. Makers of ?green? energy products such as solar panels, wind turbines and companies involved with bringing the green energy process into the computer age will benefit greatly. Another five dollars billion will be put towards helping the poor and low-income homeowners of America make energy improvements to their homes. Two dollars billion will energize the research on batteries for future electric cars.

SCHOOLS

Hillel?s Early Childhood Education Program ? YouTube

The economic stimulus will put fifty-four dollars billion towards restoring state budget cuts. The main concern is to prevent a possible 600,000 teaching jobs from being eliminated over the next three years. Districts have been trying to prevent larger class sizes in schools which would be impossible with so many teachers being cut. Of that, the No Child Left Behind program will receive twenty-five dollars billion to help pay teachers and help with special education programs. Head Start early education programs and child care programs will benefit from a four dollars billion stimulus.

We?ll talk more about what the economic stimulus package includes in later articles, but we as individuals have to begin creating our own economic stimulus plan. Let?s show our country and everyone else around the world that its not only our country, but us as individuals also, that are making plans for our financial success and freedom. Let us take advantage of the opportunity that has been given to us, whether we agree with it or not, and create some real momentum towards a stronger America.
